NBIRA Finals provide thrilling finish to inaugural season
By Logan J. Davis
There were countless thrills at the Northern Badlands Indian Rodeo Association Regional Finals last weekend. The rain did put somewhat of a damper on the rodeo excitement this weekend. But the energy the cowboys and cowgirls competed with proved that the love for rodeo doesn’t stop because of the weather or arena conditions.
The NBIRA rodeo featured some of the best Native American competitors in the nation. Originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, the heavy rain and cold that hit the Bismarck area Saturday morning forced the rodeo officials to postpone the Saturday events until Sunday. Fans said it was worth the wait because the memorable individual performances left them thrilled from start to finish.
