Makoti to celebrate 100 years

Makoti’s big centennial celebration is now only one week away.
The celebration kicks off July 7 and will conclude July 10.
The centennial committees are now putting the final touches on the event they have spent the last year planning.
“We are having a centennial meeting on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. to wrap up all the last minute details,” said Lisa Schenfisch, chair of the Registration Committee.
A town cleanup is planned for Tuesday. “They are starting in the morning and have encouraged everyone to bring mowers, rakes, garbage sacks, etc.,” said Schenfisch.
