Lock in to feature motivational speaker

A man who six years ago lay in a hospital bed dying of alcoholism, has turned his life around and has become an elected judge and motivational speaker in Montana. He will be the guest speaker during the New Year’s Eve lock in at Parshall High School.
Leroy Not Afraid, who has relatives in Mandaree, Twin Buttes and Elbowoods, is no stranger to the Fort Berthold Reservation, nor is he a stranger to some of the social issues affecting the Native American population.
Raised in the small community of Lodgegrass, Mont., Not Afraid understands what it is like growing up in a small community on an Indian reservation. That will be part of his motivational message on Friday night.
