Locals help make Bite the Ice possible, date set for 2010

Locals help make Bite the Ice possible, date set for 2010
In small communities it is vital that people come together in order to make things happen. That is exactly what happened with this year’s Bite the Ice on “The Hook” ice fishing tournament. This year’s tournament was in jeopardy of being canceled because of the large amount of snow, but local people were not willing to let that happen.
Numerous local people volunteered equipment and time to clear snow at the tournament location on Lake Sakakawea. Volunteers included Colin Haddeland (Haddeland Construction), Tim O’Brien (O’Brien Welding), Jake Estvold (Estvold Oil Field Services), Neil Roggenbuck (NR Construction), and Brian Varlow, Clayton Folden, and Rick Folden.
Buzz Lindley, a local auctioneer, also volunteers his talent to help with the prize announcements.
Committee member Eric Jaeger said, “Without these volunteers, we wouldn’t have been able to hold the tournament this year,” said committee member Eric Jaeger. “It’s great to see the local area supporting this event!”
