Lewis and Clark School District bond issue meetings planned

Patrons of the Lewis & Clark School District will head to the polls Tuesday, April 8 to decide whether to approve a $15 million bond issue.

A number of public meetings are planned to discuss the bond issue. Meetings will be a Ryder, Plaza, Makoti, Berthold and Carpio.

The first public meeting will be Monday at the Ryder Senior Citizens Center; Then, Tuesday, March 25 at the Plaza School gym; Thursday, March 27, at the Makoti School gym; Monday, March 31, at the Berthold School gym and Tuesday, April 1, at the Carpio Senior Citizens. All meetings begin at 7 p.m.

In the bond issue, Lewis & Clark School District patrons will be asked whether the district’s debt limit should be increased 5 percent on the assessed value of the taxable property of the school district beyond the 5 percent limit of indebtedness now fixed by the constitution.
