Lewis and Clark co-op plan draws a crowd
By Logan J Davis
A meeting of the Lewis and Clark Public School District #161 school board brought many questions up from parents and community members.
The Dec. 9 meeting was moved to the high school gymnasium to accommodate the many people who showed up to hear about a possible sport co-op with the Berthold High School basketball high school program.
North Shore-Plaza (NSP) and Berthold are in the same school district (Lewis and Clark) and have been in a sports co-op with each other for several years in football, volleyball, baseball and cross country. NSP has been co-oping with Des Lacs/Burlington Lakers in girl’s fast pitch softball, track and wrestling. The 7th and 8th grade basketball teams are already joined with the Berthold middle school team since NSP only had 3 boys in basketball when they began the co-op with Berthold.
