Job training Services available for older North Dakota veterans
This year’s commemoration of Veteran’s Day is a reminder that many of our nation’s veterans are unemployed and require job training to find work. More than 15 percent of the low-income older adults served by Experience Works this year, in fact, are veterans of the armed services.
“As the economy continues to falter, many older veterans are finding it necessary to find work - either becuase they were laid off or because savings have disappeared,” said Shirley Stuart, North Dakota State director for Experience Works. “Unfortunately, the search for employment is much more difficult for older individuals, because they often lack the technical skills needed to compete in today’s job market.”
