Illegal homes irk council

The city of Parshall is getting tired of people taking up residence in buses and trailers in peoples’ back yards and is going to do something about it.
Parshall city ordinances prohibit more than one residence on a lot in the city, but Mayor Kyle Christianson and other council members put together a list of a number of recreational vehicles apparently being used as permanent residences, at least in the summer time. The council voted on a measure that would cut off water service to a lot if a trailer or bus was occupied for more than two weeks.
“I mean come on, at least one of these vehicles parked in town doesn’t even have tires on it,” said Mayor Kyle Christianson. “You can’t say you’re going to use that to run to the lake.”
