Honoring the past, present and future

Memorial Day Ceremonies remain much the same for most communities most years. That is appropriate when people are creating a legacy of honoring veterans lost defending our nation and its freedoms.
Arthur Solie Legion Post 121 in Parshall did all of that and more this year. They took the time to honor two of their own for 50 year memberships. Master of Ceremony, Dick Cheatly, presented awards to Carl Brunselle Jr. and Gerry Hedberg.
Master Sergeant, Jerilyn Watson, stationed with the 891Missle Security Squadron, Minot Air Force Base, delivered the address for the occasion. She is a twenty year veteran of the United States Air Force. She told the heartwarming story about how she became interested in serving her country.
