You might call it, “Green for Greens.”
The greens at the Doc Blatherwick Memorial Golf Course have given good service, said David Diffely, but after 25 years they’ve come to the end of their useful life. The cost of replacing the greens will be more than a quarter million dollars, so the course is starting a fundraising campaign in hopes of having the course in top condition for the Parshall Centennial in 2014.
“We’re trying to put in new artificial greens,” Diffely said. “The cost will be about $260,000 to $270,000. We’re trying to raise enough money to get it kickstarted so we can get started. As we sit right now with no funding we are dead in the water. But if we can raise $100,000 I think it will go.”
