Food, fun and the future on display in Parshall
Area residents will have the opportunity to discuss the future of the region, learn more about the oil and gas development that is powering the surge of change in the Bakken and try some tasty cooking presented by members of the North Dakota Petroleum Council.
First off at 10 a.m. will be a meeting of the Vision West ND Consortium at the Reservation Telephone Cooperative Building at 24 North Main Street. The Consortium Meeting will include several presentations and discussions on topics including the impact of the 2013 Legislative Session on western North Dakota, emergency medical or trauma services, and the Regional Plan that is being developed.
Following the meeting, the Parshall High School gymnasium will be the location for the Bakken Basics general education session from 2:30-4:30 p.m. It is an opportunity to learn more about the Bakken shale formation, fracking, and the impacts of the oil boom. Vision West ND will share an informational booth at the event with the North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties.
From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., the public is invited to enjoy the North Dakota Petroleum Council’s Fifth Annual Bakken Rocks CookFest in the Parshall High School parking lot. There will be plenty of delicious food, games for kids and live entertainment. Both events are free and open to the public.
