City seeking members for golf course committee
By Jerry W. Kram
The Parshsll City Council is seeking community members who would like to help oversee the operation of the Doc Blatherwick Memorial Golf Course.
The council created the committee after being informed that the old volunteer board is no longer meeting. The city took over the debts and operation of the golf course last fall when the association decided it couldn’t afford an increase in insurance costs.
The committee will have three community members and two city council members. City Auditor Kelly Woessner said the committee needs to get up and running as quickly as possible because with the very early spring golfers have been on the course for weeks and there is a tournament scheduled for May 1. Interested persons should contact Woessner to volunteer for the committee.
