More than a 180 people showed up to cast their vote in last Tuesday’s Parshall School Board elections that ran from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. After the 186 votes were counted, two familiar faces will be back for another three-year term.
Michelle Billadeau collected the most votes with 154 counters in her favor. Carol Zacher also earned another term on the board with 144 votes as a write-in candidate. Mary Alice Wells collected 29 votes and a combination of other write-in candidates totaled 24 votes.
Besides the pool results, the school board faced issues of time and space at their regular meeting Tuesday evening. Several months ago the board got the ball rolling to purchase a tri-plex built by Dynamic Homes out of Detroit Lakes, Minn. All the customization choices have been made and the board was notified that the company plans to have the biulding completed by July 18.
However, there is a laundry list of other matters that need to be competed on the board’s end of the agreement before the tri-plex can be brought to Parshall and put in place.
