Ator questions auditor’s activities

A teacher and coach from Parshall High School raised questions about the activities of Parshall City Auditor Kelly Woessner at the last Parshall City Council meeting.
Nick Ator, a social studies teacher and athletic director at Parshall High School, raised questions about the attention Woessner has been paying to the matters at the school and whether it was being done on the city’s time.
Ator, who is leaving the school to become principal at Divide County High School in Crosby, said that he hasn’t been comfortable coming to City Hall to pay his water bill for years because of what he described as Woessner’s gossiping about others. He added that his father in law, Willie Martins, was treated disrespectfully by Woessner as well.
Ator added that Woessner has been spending a good deal of time at the school during business hours. He asked if she had clocked out during that time or if she was being paid by the city for that time.
Woessner did not comment after Ator’s address. Tom Huus, who was chairing the meeting in place of Mayor Kyle Christenson, thanked Ator for his comments. After Ator left, a number of citizens attending the meeting including Lewis and Colleen Reese praised Woessner. Lewis Reese is the Elementary School principal and Colleen Reese is a paraprofessional at the school. Colleen Reese said Woessner was one of very few friendly people she had met in Parshall and had taken time to show them around the community when they arrived two years ago.
