An enchanted evening at Harvestfest

By Edna Sailor

It couldn’t have been a more perfect evening for Harvestfest at the North Park in Parshall.

There was a bit of wind, but as Harvey Billedeau said, "This couldn’t be better. With this little wind we do not have any mosquitoes or flies."

"Harvestfest is a good idea and good times for all of us to get together after our crops are in," Billadeau said. "We can visit with people and have a good time, There isn’t a lot going on in Parshall right now and we love this time to just visit."

Billadeau smiled as he watched his grandchildren swing high and low on the park swings.

Attendees were greeted with the aroma of grilled brats and familiar tunes that filled the fall air. Reasons for attending were as varied as the people there. From the youngest in strollers to the grey haired set, all ages enjoyed the festival like atmosphere of the evening.

Many people sought the vendors and engaged in buying products offered by them.

Kay Crowsbreast and daughter, Vickie, clearly enjoyed their shopping as they looked over items.

"We don’t often have things going on here. This is such a good idea to get people together. I am shopping for Christmas, but I am buying some things for myself too," she said.
