A touch of sunny Mexico comes to Parshall

By Jerry W. Kram

Gabriel Garcia was looking for work. That’s what drew him and his wife. Maria, and daughter, Samantha, to the Bakken. What he found were lots of hungry people, and that led him to create Parshall’s newest place to eat.

"I came to this area to work and found out that there are lot of hungry people here," Garcia said.

The El Patron Restaurant is the new occupant in the office building of the Parshall RV Park on North Dakota Highway 37. The restaurant offers a varied menu with six varieties of burritos, including beef, pork and shrimp and Mexican entrees including carne asada (beef) and carnitas (pork) dinners, fajitas, enchiladas, chile rellenos, and four seafood dinners. Since the restaurant opens at 9 a.m., breakfast goers can order huevos rancheros (eggs with salsa and cheese) and huevos and chorizo (eggs and mexican sausage).
