A new entertainment option for Parshall
A new entertainment option for Parshall

Parshall residents looking for the latest movie hits haven’t always had the easiest time of it, says Will Reeves, general manager of MHA Systems.
The nearest theaters are in Minot and Stanley, Reeves said. The increased truck traffic associated with oil development has made traveling to catch a flick even less attractive. To bring some new options to the community, MHA Systems is now host to a DVD rental kiosk in the lobby of its offices at 217 3rd Ave. NE in Parshall.
“Minot’s at least an hour away and Stanley is only open on the weekends,” Reeves said. “There is no movie store in town. We offer movies that are competitively priced and we are open 24 hours a day. We are open to everybody, tribal members and others. Our population is blowing up due to the oil boom. We’ve even had customers from Garrison who said they like our selection and the fact we are open all day.”
The kiosk has been up and running for about a month, Reeves said. The kiosk has the capacity to hold 253 DVDs and so far has built up an inventory of about 165 films.
