Bill would keep oil production tax dollars in oil affected counties
House Dem-NPL Leader Kenton Onstad of Parshall has introduced the Catch Up and Plan initiative which would direct 80 percent of the revenues from the oil production tax to oil producing counties during the 2013-15 biennium.
2013 Street Project gets go-ahead
Bids will soon be let for the second phase of Parshall’s comprehensive street and sewer improvement project.
Oil field water trucks cause home owner headaches
Bulk water sales have been a boon for the City of Parshall. The added income the city has earned selling water for oil field fracking is financing a comprehensive street and sewer renovation for the entire city as well as helping pay some of the costs that will come with the city’s expansion.

Oil cleanup near Van Hook continues
Cleanup continues on an oil well blowout near Van Hook Dec. 12. About 33,600 gallons of oil and 16,800 gallons of brine or saltwater are being cleaned up, according to Dennis Fewless, director of water quality for the North Dakota Health Department.

Well blowout near Van Hook
An oil well just east of Van Hook blew out Tuesday evening. Officials and safety teams from Slawson Exploration were on the scene Wednesday morning and said they would attempt to close off the well later that day.
Rockview Telepharmacy receives Farm Credit grant
Three Farm Credit organizations announced more than a quarter of a million dollars in grants for projects that support Western North Dakota communities. The Rockview Pharmacy was the recipient of one of the grants for $20,000.
