SURREY — Garrison’s boys basketball season is officially underway. The group kicked off their season of play with an away game in Surrey, which ended in a hard fought 75-73 victory for Garrison Saturday afternoon. Surrey’s Mustangs drew the upper hand to begin this game, staking out a lead they would hold through the game’s entire first half. Through the game’s first quarter, Garrison’s group
managed 14 points. Brady Norenberg was the team’s leading scorer in quarter one, pitching in a solid six points. Norenberg’s heroics were not enough to hold back the Mustangs however as their group kept pace with the Troopers and scored 17 in the quarter, led by Lucas
Vollmers’ five first quarter points. Quarter two saw Surrey stretch its lead further as the Mustangs saw a second quarter outburst of six points from Vollmer and Ayden Amundson, scoring 22 in the quarter as a team and increasing their total to 39 in the game’s first half.
