Troopers trample Cossacks

BISMARCK — Facing off against their neighbors to the north, the Garrison Troopers swept the Region 5 tournament quarterfinal game against the Max Cossacks, 73-53, Monday evening at Bismarck St. Mary’s.
“I thought we played a solid three quarters last night,” said Cossacks head coach Jade Larson. “We started a little slow and seemed like we ran out of gas towards the last four minutes or so, but credit Garrison for adding some pressure that got to us. I really felt we gave ourselves a chance with how well we rebounded and played together.”
A Connor Kerzmann triple, followed by a layup from Brady Norenberg kickstarted the game to 5-0 within the first minute. Norenberg tipped in another bucket, followed by two free-throws from Treyson Iglehart, giving Garrison a nine-point run.
