Troopers tame the Mustangs

SURREY – Racking up two more wins over the past week, including an anxious 3-0 against the Surrey Mustangs Monday evening, the Garrison Lady Troopers are solidly maintaining their ranking in Region 5 gameplay. Ending both games 3-0, the Lady Troopers flounced the New Salem-Almont Holsteins – a fellow Region 5 team, currently ranked ninth in the region – on Oct. 18, followed by the Mustangs. The final result of these games is indicative of their resolve to take the top seed and ultimately, the regional tournament; not counting nonregional tournament play, the Lady Troopers have won all of their games either 3-0 or 3-1. (There is only one instance where this didn’t happen: their faceoff against the Des Lacs-Burlington Lady Lakers on Sept. 1, when the Lady Troopers lost 1-3.)
