Troopers roughed up in Velva
Aggies’ Bright shines vs. G-M 11
By STU MERRY
It was kind of a rough night for the Garrison-Max Troopers to open the 2015 football season.
The Troopers opened against a familiar foe, the Velva Aggies.
When the two teams were in the same region, the Aggies were always a tough opponent. Well, that hasn’t changed. The Aggies won, going away, 46-6.
There were few highlights for the Troop. Calvin Tomlinson ran 16 times for 60 yards, including a touchdown that came in the fourth quarter. He also had one catch for 12 yards.
In the passing department, QB Noah Sloka was just 1-3 for 12 yards, including one interception. The Troopers were stymied throughout, only picking up seven first downs.
