Garrison fell to New Salem-Almont in the first round of the 2020 Boys Basketball Region 5 Tournament at the Bismarck event Center on Monday night. Final score was Garrison 44, New Salem-Almont 55.
“It was a crazy season with never knowing what we would have day to day,” Head Coach Justin Folk said.
It was a fair match up throughout the first and second quarter with the Holsteins only up by four with four minutes left in the half. The Troopers were able to tie it up before the break with Conner Kerzmann dropping in a three point shot followed up by Jackson Rensch making a free throw with .6 second left on the clock.
Half time score was tied at 20.
The Holsteins jump to an early lead in the third.
Garrison fought back making all three’s in the fourth but seemed to run out of steam towards the end of the game. NS-A fought hard and pushed until the end of the game and was able to seal the game with an 11 point lead.
