Troopers lose twice

Troopers lose twice

By STU MERRY

It’s been a tough few days for the Garrison Lady Troopers.

This past Thursday, the Lady T’s fell to high-powered Underwood 64-22 in Garrison. Then, on Saturday in Surrey, the Troop fell to the Mustangs 44-40.

Experts note that Underwood is one of the best teams in District 10. But according to Coach Sandra Essler, the Surrey loss was disappointing.

"It was a tight game all the way," she said. "Turnovers and missed free throws hurt late in the game."

From the lone, the Troopers shot a paltry 5-14. Essler said the chances for a win was there. Unfortunately, the Troopers were unable to capitalize.

"We played well as a team … (but) patience needs to be developed on the offensive end," she said.

Leading the way for the Troopers was Jaimee WhiteBear with 19 points. Brooke Haugen threw in eight more for good measure. She also gathered in nine rebounds.
