Troopers fall to Laker 11

Troopers fall to Laker 11
By STU MERRY

Lack of consistency has spelled another loss for the Garrison-Max Troopers football team.
In a battle between two teams with one win each on the season, it was the Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers who picked up the “W,” handling the Troop 33-0 this past Friday night. The loss leaves the Troopers with a 1-6 mark on the season.
It was the opportunistic Lakers who capitalized on Trooper miscues early. A muffed punt on the opening drive gave the Lakers the ball deep in Trooper territory. DLB wasted little time putting points on the board.
The Lakers drew first blood when quarterback Austin Schestler found Austin Aberle at the goal line, and the senior stretched his way into the end zone. With the PAT, the Lakers were on top 7-0.
A four and out by the Troopers gave the Lakers the ball again. Again they scored when Flick went in virtually untouched from eight yards out. The PAT failed, and it was 13-0.
