In the last game before the holiday break, Garrison took down the Glenburn Panthers on Dec. 21 with a score of 55 to 31.
It started slow, with both teams struggling to get on the board with Garrison at ten points followed by Glenburn with a mere eight.
"Glenburn was well prepared for us. They had a few kids that played in the state tournament last year, and you could tell," Troopers head coach Matt Chase said. "They played with poise and experience."
The Lady Troopers kicked it into high gear halfway through the second quarter taking a 14-point lead over the Panthers before heading into halftime.
Glenburn surged back after the half keeping pace with Garrison. Both teams dropped in 12 points.
But the Panthers couldn't keep up and Garrison widened its lead to a whopping 24 points by the time the game wrapped up.
"We had to make some adjustments in the second half and our defense definitely was a big reason we got things going," Chase said.
Sophomore Emily Schlehr scored her season's personal best with 13 points leading the Troopers for the win, followed by Mia Gehring and Cedar Perkins both dropping in 10.
"Emily and Mia led us both on defense and offense," Chase said. "They were vocal and played with great energy."
The final score of the game was Garrison 55 to Glenburn's 31.
