Trooper Tracksters open season with scrimmage in Williston
Garrison made the long trip to the Williston ARC for the first meet of the season last Tuesday, March 18.
There were 10 teams in attendance at the meet, and it was a combination of high school and junior high students competing.
“Since it was a scrimmage, no places were recorded. No times, distances, or heights were recorded as well,” Trooper Track Head Coach Jason Ermer said. “We had a running clock up and we used Fully Automatic Timing to give the times to the kids after their race, but we did not upload those results. It was a great way to get the young kids a feel for a track meet, without having any pressure of missing events due to missing marshalling. They basically got to jump in any heat or flight they wanted.”
