Trooper ladies open 1-1

The Garrison Lady Troopers evened their early season record at 1-1 Monday, outlasting the Powers Lake Ranchers 49-41 in Powers Lake.
The Troopers rode the hot hand of Kenzie Matteson who torched the twine for 20. ‘Kenz had eight two-pointers and was 4-7 from the line. Chipping in with 10 was Caitlin Wilcox.
The Ranchers were led by Paige Hoiby with 17. Sam Jorgenson tossed in 14 more for Powers Lake, but it wasn’t enough as the troopers prevailed.
Garrison opened the season Dec. 11, falling to the Surrey Mustangs by 22, 62-40. The game was in Surrey.
Kenzie led the way again, throwing in a dozen. The Lady T’s were 9-44 from the field, but 20-26 from the line. Chantal Urban led the Mustangs with 20.
