Trooper girls break top 10

Trooper track and field hit the road this past week for the Northwest Conference Track Meet, with the Garrison girls finding themselves especially successful at the Tioga event. 
During the May 6 meet, the Trooper girls placed seventh as a team, just below Trenton and just ahead of Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood. 
Karli Klein and Haley Huesers lead the Trooper girls at the meet, each taking a first and second finish in their specialty events. Klein placed first in the 300 meter hurdles, with a second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles. Huesers took first in discus and second in shot put, setting a personal record in the latter. 
A team of Kaitlyn Zook, Abby Heinzen, Mia Gehring and Klein took third in the 100 meter relay. 
In the 100 meter individual, Zook placed 13th, Heinzen 19th, Gehring, 23rd and Lucy Taylor 37th. 
For the 200 meter run, Zook placed 14th, with Heinzen in 17th and Taylor 32nd. 
Jetah Belzer would take a 21st place finish in the 400 meter. 

Boys
Garrison boys placed 11th as a team, racking up 24 points total at the meet. 
The boys found the most success in the jump events, breaking the top ten several times during the meet. 
Averey Kerzmann would set a personal record with his long jump performance, taking a third place finish overall. Tyler Zook would finish 10th in the event, with Gavin Ruud 27th and Tyler Heusers 30th.
