Trooper football played hard
By TYSON SMEDSTAD ZIEMANN
The Garrison-Max Troopers opened their season with an exciting game last Friday. Many fans turned out for their inaugural game and helped cheer on their team. The Troopers started out strong, and Carson Calhoun as quarterback did a great job connecting with his receivers.
During the first quarter Calhoun went out with an injured arm. Gage Gehring subbed in for one play, then Calhoun was back in and ran the ball for a touchdown.
At halftime the score was Garrison-6, Berthold-12 .
“The players put their heart into this game and they never folded,” said Coach Jon Calhoun, “The kids are excited to be out there. You could sense there was excitement in the air.”
