The Troopers 5th grade team had a 3-point lead after the first quarter then watched that lead turn into a 4-point deficit by the break. An ice cold second quarter offense, the only scoring a 3-point play by Zach Seidler with only five seconds left in the quarter and too many turnovers helped the Cardinals get back in the game.
The Troopers took the lead back in the third period but were outscored in the final frame, dropping the contest 30-28. Seidler led the Trooper scoring with a dozen and Jack Bright added 10.
Scoring: Z. Seidler 12; J. Bright 10; Avery Kerzmann 3; Gage Gehring 1; Seth Kerzmann 2 FTs: 6-9.
The Cardinal’s depth was too much for the Troopers as they trailed the entire game in the 6th grade contest, falling 30-20. Clay Bendickson led the Trooper scoring with 9 and Dawson Wimer dropped in
Scoring: C. Bendickson 9; Aaron Johnson 3; Casey Kolden 2; D. Wimer 6 FTs: 4-8.
The 5th grade Troopers jumped out to a 7-point lead over the Cossacks after the first quarter and stretched that lead the whole game on the way to a 33-17 win. Seven Troopers got into the scoring column, all with crooked numbers led by Gage Gehring’s 10.
