Troop soars past Eagles
Troop soars past Eagles
By STU MERRY
Chalk one up in the win column for the Garrison-Max Troopers football team. The Troop got past New Town 19-16 in a come-from-behind victory this past Friday in New Town.
The win came on the wings of two fourth quarter TD passes by Craig Talbott who found Levi Hummel for two long scores.
But it was nip-and-tuck for a majority of the game. The Troopers didn’t move the ball well, except for the long touchdown drives, according to Coach Jason Mattheis. The score could have been higher. A long touchdown was also called back because of a penalty. A couple other long passes just missed the intended receiver.
