Titans’ future is bright

Next season is looking good for the Garrison-Max-Central McLean Titans American Legion baseball team. But as with other programs, there will be changes. The team will lose its two top pitchers. Coach Tyler Modlin said it will be time for the younger players to step to the fore.
“We lose Ramsey Crawford and Matt Landenberger our two best pitchers and contact hitters,” Modlin said. “However, Luke Gehring, Reid Groninger and Brett O’Grady will be returning and take over as the top pitchers.”
Brookes Reinholt, Alex Bendickson and Andrew Haugen, along with Noah Sloka, will also be returning.
“Our veteran squad will be looking strong,” Modlin said.
Experience will also be an advantage for the Titans.
“I am expecting great things from our younger players as they all showed great potential – guys like Allen Porter, Sam Larson, Gabe Lassila, and Dylan Finken.”
Modlin is already fired up for next season.
“Bottom line, I hope we put the Titans on the baseball map for North Dakota,” he said. “When 13 men can take a team to state against other teams with almost double the players, it makes a strong point. Thirteen men came to the field and played their hearts out this season against teams that hold try-outs to make their team.”
Modlin said he is proud and honored that he was able to share the field with these young men who are athletes and also morally sound.
