Titans take two from Crosby
By STU MERRY
The Garrison-Max Titans American Legion baseball team squared its record on the season at 3-3 following a twin-bill sweep of the Crosby Cubs, Monday night in Garrison.
In the opener, the Titans bolted out to a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the second. The Cubs answered quickly, plating three in the top of the third. The game was nip and tuck the rest of the way with the Titans holding on for the win. Noah Sloka picked up the victory.
Sam Larson took the bump in the nightcap, and the hits just kept on coming as the Titans cruised 19-10/
Last week, the Titans were 1-1 in counters, beating Hazen 1-0 and losing to Bottineau 10-4 in 8 innings.
Against Hazen, Coach Andrew Haugen said the team played great defense and Jaaron (Kamp) did a great job of throwing strikes and getting big outs when needed.
While the win is nice, putting up crooked numbers is more important.
