Titans go 1-2 at sectionals

Titans go 1-2 at sectionals

There wasn’t a team at sectionals that the Garrison-Max-Central McLean Titans couldn’t play with.
That’s the mindset of Coach Nathan Turck in talking about his team that went 1-2 at the Section 6 Tournament this past week in Watford City.
“In fact the team that won it (Crosby), we beat three times out of three games,” he said.
The Crosby Cubs surprised a few fans and teams at sectionals, including pre-tournament favorite Renville County. Crosby will represent the section at this week’s Class B Legion State Tournament in Beulah.
The Titans fell to Makoti in the opening round 6-1. This past Thursday, facing elimination, the Titans took out Ray 5-1. Later that day, the Titans’ season came to an end at the hands of Renville County.
Turck said the kids played hard, but came up short.
The Renville County Muskrats took out their frustration from a 1-0 shocker at the hands of the Crosby Cubs July 22 in the opening of the Section 6 tournament and pummeled the Titans 19-9 in a five-inning contest, called due to the mercy rule.
