"It was crazy. I didn't know what to think. I was speechless and in shock," Presley Thompson said of her recent trip to Sandy, Utah, to compete at the National NASP Archery Tournament. "It was a great experience."
When she got up to shoot, "I was very nervous. Nervous and excited,” Thompson said. “It was mixed feelings. A little overwhelmed and a little stressed.”
But that nervousness and stress didn't slow her down one bit.
She finished in first place overall in the Elementary Female 3-D division and second place overall in the Elementary Female Bullseye division.
"I shot my personal best at the state, so I kind of had a feeling I would qualify for Nationals just by how well I did in my divisions," Thompson said.
She said she just knew she would get first in Nationals too.
