Summer baseball rolls along
Young Titans have winning ways

The first month of baseball for the young Titans teams is in the books and both teams have put up winning records.
The Peewee team featured 21 players, 10 of which are Peewee rookies so some growing pains were to be expected as the new players adjusted to a higher level of baseball. The season started by hosting Underwood at Don Gackle Field and the game went extra innings before ending in a 9-all tie. A 6-run fifth frame gave the Titans a 9-5 lead but the visitors pushed four runs across in the 6th to tie the game and the Titans could not answer.
Next up was Max, in town for a double-header. The Titans started fast in the first game, pushing five runs across on their way to a 10-4 win. In the second game, scoring was slower until a 6-run fourth inning extended a small Titan lead on the way to a 13-4 win. A Brody Seidler solo home run was the highlight of the scoring run.
The first road trip of the season found the Titans in Turtle Lake for a match-up under overcast skies. The Titans took a first inning lead with a couple runs and that lead held up until the home team tied the game in the 3rd. After a rain delay, the Titans scored twice in the 5th and held on for a 4-2 win.
The road game with Washburn was a back and forth contest with each team getting then losing leads. A 9-3 Titan lead in the third inning, highlighted by a Grady Crawford home run in the first inning evaporated in the 4th after Washburn scored four times to knot the game at 9.
The Titans took a 1-run lead in the 7th inning on a Lucas Holte single but Washburn came right back, scoring twice in their half of the inning for a 11-10 walk-off win.
