Sporting clays program gets boost

A $5,000 grant from the North Dakota Wildlife Federation is a shot in the arm the for fledgling Garrison Sporting Clays Club.
"It’s going to help us out a lot," said Kelsey Stumvoll, a Garrison High sophomore who has played an integral part in getting the program off the ground.
The funding will offset the cost of a new thrower, a device used to catapult clay targets in the competition.
"That’s going to push us along a good way and will get this off the ground."
While financial support is welcome, volunteers to help with the program is as vital.
"This is all done on a volunteer basis, including coaches," said Superintendent Nick Klemisch.
As of now, there are 20 registered students signed up for the program with more expected.
