It’s been a busy couple weeks for the Garrison cross country teams.
The high school and elementary runners participated in the Mandan Kiwanis Invitational Sept. 10. The day was made for running, with cooler temps, little to no wind and a flat fast course.
First up was the junior high race. Madison Myers was out last week due to illness, so McKenzie Fuller represented the Troopers. Fuller finished with a time of 0:17:37 finishing 69th. Next up was the elementary race. Madden Everett was available for the race and finished the mile in 7:38.
The varsity races featured Katherine White for the girls and Hunter Baer for the boys. Both struggled a bit with the second mile splits a bit slower than the first mile, but both ended up setting new personal bests. White finished 53rd out of 103 with a time of 22:45. Baer finished 86th out of 122 with a time of 19:57.
The high school runners were out again on Saturday at the Anderson Stavn meet at McDowell Dam. More than 1,000 runners took part in the races. The weather was sunny and a bit on the warm side for running.
