MINOT — South Prairie-Max’s varsity girls basketball team, the Royals, were quite busy this past weekend. The group competed as a first seeded team in the District 12 Tournament in Minot. South Prairie-Max finished their district playoff run with a strong second-place finish on the back of a two and one record at the tournament.
Led by standout sophomore Skotti Beck, and strong team performances all around the Royals secured their spot in the Region Six Tournament.
In their first game against the Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood Mavericks, the Royals dominated from the start.
In the convincing 55-26 victory Beck was the leading scorer with 20 points, while MaKya Gerding and Abby Mikkelson both contributed six points each.
