Royals nearly perfect week

SOUTH PRAIRIE — Throughout this past week, the South Prairie-Max Royals varsity girls basketball program had little time off, competing in four contests: a 59-44 road win over Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood, a 71-59 road win over TGU, a 69-36 home loss against Central McLean and a 46-33 road win in Washburn.
South Prairie-Max’s first game of the week, their Jan. 31 contest against MLS, was a routine contest for the Region Six District 12 leaders who took care of business with relative ease.
While MLS managed to score in spurts throughout the contest, they just couldn’t find a consistent hole in the Royal’s defense.
As the MLS offense struggled to find their footing for a consistent stretch of game, their defense had no answer for the Royals’ leading scorer.
