Royals march through round one

MINOT — Monday evening the South Prairie-Max Royals made team history as they kicked off their Region 6 Tournament action with a first round victory against the Nedrose Cardinals in a 54-48 final score.
This contest was the first appearance the Royals varsity girls basketball team has made at the Region level, never having advanced past Districts before this season. Despite it being the groups first appearance on this big of a stage they didn’t shy away from the moment and came out swinging as a group.
While the final score ended up being quite close the game’s first quarter tells an entirely different story as the Royals quickly jumped out to a dominant 27-8 lead in period one.
