The Garrison-Max Troopers track team came home this past weekend with an athlete who placed at state. Jon Price picked up a sixth place finish in the 1600m run, turning in his second best time ever. He also placed in the 3200m run, coming in fifth. Jon was ranked ninth in the 1600 m run and turned in a time of 4:40.17.
“Not bad for 90 degrees and windy,” exclaimed coach Bill Melaas.
That was Friday. Saturday, Jonathan ran the 3200m run ranked fifth in the state and finished fifth with a personal best of 10:14.22 breaking his old mark of 10:19.31.
“We had a couple of pretty good days in Bismarck,” Melaas said. “The student athletes were very well behaved. The community would and should be very proud of these young men and women with what they did and how they went about their business. They really gave it their all.”
