Netters fine tuning their game

The youthful Garrison-Max Troopers volleyball team is 0-2 early in the season, but optimism is high the team is headed in the right direction.
Tuesday, the ladies took on Powers Lake in Max.
“They have a strong back row and consistent hitters,” said C0-Coach Jen Hirsch. “Our game plan is to attack early and keep our energy level up.”
The match against Standing Rock, scheduled for last Thursday, was rescheduled to Saturday, Sept. 17 in Ft. Yates.
Reflecting on the season opener, a 3-2 loss to Lewis & Clark-Berthold, Hirsch said the match was enjoyable to be a part of.
“Berthold is a good team and it was good to see the girls come out swinging,” she said “We started out strong and controlled the momentum of the first two games.”
The third game the Troopers came out over confident and hit a few too many balls deep.
