The Garrison Lady Troopers are ready for a break.
Following a pair of losses this past week, to Underwood and Surrey, the Troopers look like the walking wounded.
This past Saturday, the Troopers hung tough against Surrey but wound up on the short end of a 56-43 score. The game was in Garrison. This past Thursday, the Troopers fell to District 10 foe Underwood 60-34 in Underwood. With the two losses the Ladies are 1-8.
Coach Sandra Essler exclaimed that the team welcomes some time off, needing some time to heal.
“We have a separated shoulder, an apparent concussion, a couple of ankles and a strained quad muscle,” she said of injured players.
The Troopers are off for two weeks, returning to action Jan. 4 hosting Powers Lake. At the top of the to do list is getting into better shape.
“Over the break we need to condition, and work on execution,” Essler said.
Talking about the Surrey contest, Essler said she was impressed with the shooting of the Lady Mustangs.
