Megabowl to stay in Washburn
BY TYSON SMEDSTAD
It was a beautiful night for the opening game of the Garrison-Max Varsity Football season at the Washburn High School field.
The Troopers came out strong during their first drive of the game, making it almost all the way down the field before losing the ball with three minutes left in the first quarter. The Roughriders had the ball going into the second.
During the second quarter the Troop still looked hot, but Southern McLean was able to connect and scored a touchdown and finished the drive with a two-point conversion.
Although the Troop pushed back, they ended giving up another touchdown but were unable to get the extra point. This brought the score at half time to 0-14.
