Max Cossacks settle for fourth

The 2014-15 boys basketball season has been put to bed. Capping it off with a fourth place finish at this past week’s Region 5 Tournament in Bismarck were the Max Cossacks.
Coming in as district champions, the Cossacks began the tourney on a high note Monday, March 9, disposing of Standing Rock 69-54. Max was the only District 10 team to advance to semifinal play.
March 10 against Solen was a complete opposite as the Sioux prevailed 64-43. The battle for third place was against Flasher this past Thursday. The Bulldogs were up 22-17 at half. In the third, Flasher outscored their Max counterparts 16-6 to take control, eventually winning 56-41. Max settled for fourth.
