If it were summer, there wouldn’t be any grass growing under the feet of the Garrison Lady Troopers. The Lady T’s closed out a hectic four games in five nights stretch Tuesday, traveling to take on Center-Stanton in Center.
With those games in the taillights, the District 10 Tournament lies dead ahead. The tourney starts Feb. 11 in Washburn. In another make-up game, the Troopers host Sheridan County at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Monday, the Lady Troopers fell to region foe Flasher 55-39. The list of healthy players got thinner as Jess Stumvoll dislocated her kneecap in the first quarter.
Coach Sandra Essler said foul trouble in the third quarter hurt the Trooper cause.
“We had to come out of our man-to-man defense and play zone,” she said. “Their post players took advantage.
“(It was) disappointing after our first half was pretty respectable.”
This past Friday, the Troopers played a make-up game with Our Redeemers. The game was at the Minot Auditorium. Essler said playing in the venue was fun, but ….
