Lady Troopers win at Velva

The Garrison-Max Trooper lady golfers picked up a nice first place finish Monday at Velva – using only four golfers.
Absent from the team were Alyssa Mehlhoff and Brittny Riemer who had other commitments at school.
Leading the way for the Troopers was Caitlin Wilcox who carded a 101 – good for third place. Jess Stumvoll turned in a nice 108 for a 7th place tie. Coming in for a ninth place tie was Casey Behles. Jenna Mehlhoff penciled in a 120.
Most of the teams from our region were at the Velva meet with a few missing a golfer or two just like we were, said Coach Loni Hall.
The coach was pleased with what she saw.
“The four girls played very well and we finished in first place by six strokes,” she said, adding, “I’m very proud of the girls even though they were a little disappointed in themselves on the course at times. It was a good day.”
