Lady Troopers playing for state

The Garrison Lady Troopers, ranked No. 9 in the state, are headed to a Region 5 championship title game against Bismarck’s Shiloh Christian, North Dakota’s No. 7 ranked Class B girls team.; at stake – a trip to the State Class B Girls Tournament. The game, is tonight (Thursday) at about 7:30 p.m. in Mandan.
The Troopers didn’t take any prisoners Tuesday night in the semi-final game at the Mandan High gym, routing District 10 competition Wilton-Wing 56-36.
In two previous meetings against the Miners, the games came down to the final minutes before the Troopers pulled out the win.
Jan. 17, the Troopers prevailed 41-37. In the semifinals of the District 10 Tournament in Underwood last week, Garrison won by five, 44-39.
Tuesday night, it was a whole different ballgame. Garrison led 17-12 after the first quarter and 31-14 at intermission. The game was all Garrison’s from the get-go.
Shiloh found its way to the title game defeating Grant County 51-40. In Monday action, Shiloh rolled past Washburn 44-29.
